Reset PIN / Forgot PIN
If you’ve forgotten your M-PESA PIN or simply want to change it, you can easily reset it using this self-service option. Remember, you’ll need to set up security questions beforehand to enable PIN reset.
To reset your PIN:
- Dial *334#
- Select My Account
- Select M-PESA PIN Manager
- Choose M-PESA Forgot PIN
- Enter your ID/Passport number
- Answer the security questions (if you had set them)
- Enter your new PIN and confirm it
- You’ll then receive a message confirming your PIN has been successfully reset.
Important to note:
You are allowed a maximum of 3 PIN reset attempts after which, you will be barred for 7 days. You can, however, seek further assistance from Safaricom customer care.
PIN reset isn’t available if you’ve transacted in the last 24 hours or if you’ve replaced your SIM within the past 7 days.
