M-PESA Global makes it easy to send and receive money directly to mobile numbers across borders. Whether supporting family, friends, or business, transfers are fast, safe, and convenient.
To get started, you’ll need to opt in — open to all active M-PESA users:
How to Opt In
Via M-PESA App
- Download the M-PESA App from Google Play Store or iOS App Store.
- Log in with your M-PESA PIN.
- On the navigation bar, select Transact, choose Global then click on Continue.
- Enter your details and M-PESA PIN.
- You’ll receive a confirmation SMS once successfully opted in.
Via USSD
- Dial *334#.
- Select Send Money then select M-PESA Global.
- Enter your location (e.g., Safaricom House, Waiyaki Way).
- Accept Terms & Conditions.
- Enter your M-PESA PIN and wait for a confirmation SMS.
Where you can send money
- East Africa: Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Botswana, Burundi,
- Zambia, and Malawi.
- Asia: Bangladesh and Pakistan
- You can also receive money from abroad directly into your M-PESA account.
