M-PESA Bulk Payment
The Bulk Payment service (Business to Customer - B2C) lets organizations quickly send money from their M-PESA short code straight to people’s phones in real time, at the click of a button. Think salaries, SACCO payouts, dividends, or even promotional prizes.
With this service, your organization can send payments to multiple M-PESA users in one go. Through the M-PESA web portal, you’ll be able to track every disbursement, monitor payments in real time, and even download statements for your records. Each B2C account is linked to a Shortcode and a Username.
This service is open to all organizations and institutions, public or private, looking to make M-PESA payments to individuals. Please remember: your login credentials are private and must be kept confidential.
What you can use Bulk Payment for:
- Banks, MFIs, SACCOs: Loan disbursements or withdrawals directly to M-PESA.
- Insurance: Claims settlement.
- Companies: Disbursement of salaries and payment to casual workers.
- Promotions: Cash prizes for winners.
- Business Payments: Small supplies, petty cash and daily wages.
- Dividend Payments: Annual payouts for shareholders.
- Government, NGOs, FBOs: Disbursement of project funds, relief funds, per diems, or field staff wages.
