TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR THE SAFARICOM NEWSROOM PORTAL

The following terms and conditions apply to the Safaricom Newsroom Platform (“the platform”) and by accessing the Platform you will be deemed to have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

Brief Description of the Platform

1.  The Safaricom Newsroom is a platform where we share stories of Safaricom’s journey of transfroming lives.

Content

2. Content published on the platform shall include text, images, graphics and audio-visual material

3. By submitting content to the Editor, contributors grant Safaricom Limited an irrevocable, non-exclusive licence to use, distribute, reproduce, adapt, store and publish their content on the Platform.

4. Safaricom Limited shall have the right to sub-licence the rights granted in clause 3 above.

5 . All copyright and other intellectual property rights in material published on the platform are reserved.

6. Safaricom disclaims any liability to the fullest extent permissible by law for any legal consequences arising from the content of posts on the platform including but not limited to personal opinions, malicious and/or defamatory information.

Privacy

7. When you visit the platform, social media buttons on the site may log certain information such as your IP address, browser type and language, access time, and referred website addresses, and, if you are logged on to those social media sites, they may also link such collected information with your profile information on that site.

8. Any information collected from user activities on the platform shall not be disclosed under any circumstances or used for any purposes not permitted by law.

9. Safaricom reserves the right to vary or amend any feature of the Platform or to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Such changes shall be advertised on the portal and on Safaricom’s website www.safaricom.co.ke.
