Nakuru residents eagerly welcomed the opening of a Safaricom shop at the Westside Mall, a second of its kind in Kenya.
The happy customers thronged the shop to experience firsthand the services that have now been brought closer to their backyard.
They also enjoyed entertainment from local acts including comedian Professor Hammo and musician Naiboi who kept the crowd charged with his latest hit songs.
Lucky customers also got to enjoy free goodies which included airtime, branded tee shirts and caps.

Victor Ngumo, the Safaricom Head of Department in the Rift Region noted that the only other experience shop in Kenya is located in Nairobi at the Village Market.
The shop, he said, will not only serve the Nakuru residents but also other Kenyans passing through the county on their way to various destinations.
“The Rift Valley region is one of the fastest growing regions in the country and we are glad to bring the Safaricom Experience right at your doorstep. You will enjoy services provided by an experienced team that is always happy to serve,” he said.
Peter Ketyenya, the Trade and Tourism County Executive in the County who also addressed the crowd, lauded Safaricom for creating an enabling business environment in the region.
“Nakuru is a vast area and with the new shop, it is now easier for residents to enjoy Safaricom services that are offered,” he said.

Daniel Tolan, a customer noted that the shop is easy to access with friendly staff that took care of his needs efficiently.
Amidst the pomp and colour, The Safaricom Twaweza Live Caravan was officially flagged off marking the beginning of a seven month road show that will help in connecting better with customers.
The caravan will go round Nakuru County before heading out to Kericho then Eldoret where a new Digifarm Depot will be unveiled at the Burnt Forest in partnership with iProcure. This project is set to benefit thousands of farmers in the area.
The campaign was officially launched a week ago and will visit the Rift, Central, Eastern, Coast, Nyanza, Western and Nairobi regions ensuring loyal customers are entertained, receive product education, customer services, free medical camps and community projects.
Millions of Safaricom users across the country will enjoy service delivery right at their door steps as the caravan spends 10 days in each region.
During his speech, Ketyenya said that Nakuru people will benefit greatly from the partnership with Safaricom.
