Peter Nyabuto fell in love with music as a young boy singing at the Seventh Day Adventist church.
His first interaction with an instrument was at Nairobi School where he begun playing a recorder and later transitioned to a saxophone. His love for music would see him join the Art of Music program where he learned about orchestras.
While at the orchestra, Nyabuto learned to play the guitar, the saxophone and the bassoon, one of the oldest and rare instruments in classical music. He also took up singing classes, but the latter was short-lived.
The tutor at the Safaricom Youth Orchestra believes a shift – for the better – in his musical career happened in 2020 as a desperate attempt to sustain himself, like many other creatives at the time, by venturing into entertaining their fans via online spaces.
